SNAP EBT Program Resources for Farmers Markets and Direct Marketing Farmers
Recognizing that America’s Farmers Markets (FMs) and Direct Marketing Farmers (DMFs) are a great source of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods, the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has made it a priority to expand access to such food for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants by providing free electronic benefit transfer (EBT) equipment necessary to process SNAP benefits to eligible FMs and DMFs.
Your SNAP Authorization Permit Number from FNS is required to apply for the SNAP EBT Equipment Program. If you haven’t yet received your permit number, you can visit www.fns.usda.gov/snap/retailer-apply to complete the application.
